The Seven Cities Russian Dance Festival 2025 in Tamil Nadu kicked off in Chennai on Friday.

The Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship Society organises the 22nd Russian Dance Festival in collaboration with Russian House.

The Russian dance troupe will enthrall the audience in Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Erode, Tiruchengode, Trichy, and Sivakasi.

The programme dates in these cities are yet to be finalized.

Noted Bharathanatyam exponent Dr.Padma Subramaniyam on Friday inaugurated the dance festival in Chennai in the presence of Valery Khodzhaeb – Consul General, Russian Consulate General in South India,  Padmabhusan Dr. Sivathanu Pillai, Father of BrahMos missile,   Alexander Dodonov, Vice Consul & Director, Russian House,  P. Thangappan, Secretary General, Indo-Russian Cultural & Friendship Society and. T. R. Paarivendhar, Chancellor, SRM University.

The festival features an exciting array of traditional and contemporary Russian dance performances, highlighting the grace, passion, and skill inherent in Russia’s rich dance heritage.

The event brings together renowned Russian dancers, offering art lovers a unique opportunity to experience Russia’s artistic traditions up close.

Russian dance traditions, known for their grace, precision, and energy, often leave a lasting impact on viewers. A statement said that the intricate choreography, beautiful costumes, and emotive performances would have created an atmosphere of awe and admiration.
