The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Bengaluru Branch hosted the highly anticipated MANAK Carnival at the BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT&M). This event gathered around 680 enthusiastic Standards Club members from 13 distinguished colleges and it aimed to promote awareness of quality standards and foster creativity and innovation among young minds.

Top city colleges like the University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Acharya Institute of Technology, R R Institute of Technology, Sapthagiri College of Engineering, Global Academy of Technology, Govt. Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, R L Jalappa Institute of Technology, M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, R L Jalappa Polytechnic, Smt Nagarathanamma School and College of Nursing, GPS Institute of Agricultural Management, Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The carnival featured a series of exciting activities, including Kite Decoration with the theme “Flying High with Standards”, a Two-Minute Talk on BIS Quality and Standards, a Quiz on Quality and Standards, Mix and Match, Elaborate the Abbreviation Competitions.

Winners of the various events received exciting prizes, with RL KJalappa Polytechnic winning the Best Exhibitor Award and BMSIT ECE Branch being recognized as the runner-up. The exhibition displayed ISI-marked products, drone models, and other innovative projects demonstrating the importance of quality standards in technology and creativity.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities like Dr. Satyam Suwas, Professor and Chair of the Materials Engineering Department at IISc Bengaluru, as the Chief Guest; Amesha Wadkar, Founder of Sapthashwa Run Club, was the Guest of Honor and conducted a workshop on “Healthy Minds, Successful Futures: Mental Health Strategies for Academic Success. Dr. Sanjay H. A., Principal, Dr. Anil G. N., Vice Principal of BMSIT&M, Narender Reddy Beesu, Scientist E and Director, Premlata Sinha, Scientist D and Joint Director of BIS Bengaluru, gave the welcome address and overview of BIS focusing on the IEC event scheduled for September 2025.

The MANAK Carnival successfully blended innovation with culture, bringing together knowledge, creativity, and tradition. It marked a remarkable achievement in promoting BIS’s mission of standardization, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
