Ilaiyaraaja Western Classical music concert in London – a historic first
Award-winning Indian Composer, Conductor, Arranger, Lyricist, Singer, and Producer Dr. Ilaiyaraaja announces a debut performance of his new Symphony Number 1 – ‘Valiant’ at Eventim Apollo, London, set for March 2025.
The release of Symphony No. 1 – Valiant marks a groundbreaking milestone in global music history as the first full Western Classical Symphony composed by an Indian Composer. This momentous achievement highlights Ilaiyaraaja’s unparalleled artistry and cements his legacy as a trailblazer across cultures and genres. The Maestro’s legacy is revered globally as one of the greatest Indian composers ever.
Ilaiyaraaja—often celebrated as the “Maestro”—boasts a colossal career over five decades. He has composed over 8,500 songs and written music for over 1,523 feature films in nine languages, an unmatched feat in the global music industry. Additionally, he has penned lyrics for over 1,500 songs besides lending his voice to more than half of them.
His UK Live debut performance will be held on Saturday 8th March 2025 at Eventim Apollo, London.
