It gives me immense pleasure to announce that our Consulting Editor, Dr. Anubha Jain has been conferred with a Doctorate for her P.Hd thesis on role of women leaders with special reference to the role of media at a convocation held at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University in Mumbai on Saturday.

Daughter of veteran journalist late Sh. Dheerendra Jain and former Editor Broadcaster in All India Radio, mother Kamlesh Jain, Dr. Anubha has successfully completed her Ph.D. on the topic of “Role of women leaders in the political landscape of Rajasthan with special reference to the role of media” from the Department of Humanities of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Mumbai.
It is a mark of the multi-faceted personality of Dr Anubha that she combines her academic rigour with practical business acumen and has recently been elected as the honorary additional secretary of Rajasthan’s leading trade and business body, the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), for another term of 2024-2027. Her contribution to the chamber has been immense as she helps women entrepreneurs make a mark in the country with her guidance.
Dr. Anubha Jain’s Ph.D. highlights the significant impact of women in Rajasthan’s Political Landscape.
The research study has brought out the status of women in the age-old patriarchal system, the socio-political role played by women in Rajasthan against the backdrop of prevailing and changing social, political, and economic behaviour with aspirations, and concluded the way whether media has played its role reasonably in the true depiction of women’s journey and helped to uplift their position in the society.
The study has used the political journey of some prominent women leaders of Rajasthan as case studies and supplemented it with a survey-based analysis to derive the conclusions. This study has also illustrated live examples of women politicians who have made a remarkable contribution to our legislative bodies solely based on their potential and without any reservation.
The study gives an insight into women leaders’ actions or deeds on issues of crucial importance like gender inequality, atrocities against women, 33% reservation for women, and women empowerment that will eventually bring to light women’s position in society against the age-old patriarchal system. The researcher’s one-on-one dialogue with prominent women leaders-cum-politicians, media connoisseurs and other personalities from different walks of life has made the research more authentic.
