Kolkata Pointers Batch of 1998 Marks 25 Years with Heartfelt Reunion and Community Outreach
It was nostalgia once more as the Pointers Batch of 1998 from South Point High School reunited in a grand celebration, marking 25 years since their Class Xth Board examinations, on December 22 at the school premises. But, the milestone event wasn’t just about nostalgia; it was a testament to the batch’s enduring spirit of giving back to society, and curiosity for knowledge.
The celebrations began with a visit to Save the Orphans in Rania near Ranikuthi, where batch members donated essential stationery, clothes, toys, and school supplies to over 30 children aged four to 12 years. At the main event, former South Point teachers were honored for their invaluable contribution to shaping this distinguished batch, which boasts accomplished professors, scientists, doctors, and corporate leaders.
Amidst emotional reunion, the group announced the formation of PONEM, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting its members and addressing broader community needs in healthcare, education, and sustainability.
The initiative continues with additional orphanage visits on December 24 and 29 to Lake Gardens Women and Child Development Centre and Prantojoner Pathshala, Bhangar respectively, reinforcing the Pointers’ commitment to creating meaningful change.
