Revanth Reddy launches Young India Integrated Schools programme for the poor in Telangana

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone today for the first Young India Integrated Residential School at Kondurg village in Shadnagar Assembly Constituency. In all, 119 such schools will be set up in all the assembly constituencies of the state.

Aimed at providing a better future to the students in the state, the Young India Integrated Residential Schools programme will be spread across the state. “We made the promise of providing quality education and medical care to the poor apart from solving the unemployment problem in Telangana,” Revanth Reddy said addressing the gathering.

The previous government, he alleged, deprived the poor children of education. Five thousand government schools have been closed in the state. “My government decided to provide high standard education to the poor,” the CM said and added, the government is reforming the entire education system. It is the reason the process of teachers promotions and transfers has been completed to instill confidence in the government.

The new schools are aimed to provide Equitable Access to Quality Education: These schools will offer international standards of English medium education from 4th to 12th grades to SC, ST, BC, OC, and Minority students, all under one roof. This fosters a competitive spirit and eliminates discrimination based on caste and religion, ensuring every child has an equal opportunity to succeed.

They will have State-of-the-art Facilities: Each school, built on a 20-25 acres as “Mini Education Hub,” will have modern infrastructure, including smart boards, digital libraries, computer labs, dedicated grounds for cricket, football, basketball, and tennis, promoting holistic development.

The KCR government closed 5000 government schools with a conspiracy to deprive the poor of education, he alleged and said “My government is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools to reach education facilities to the poor.

PV Narasimha Rao introduced the policy of residential schools in 1972. People like Burra Venkatesham rose to the rank of IAS with the visionary thinking of PV. The previous government did not take any steps to provide education to the poor and develop infrastructure in the schools. The opposition is criticizing the government for its commitment to provide education to the poor.

The CM said he had handed over 30,000 appointment letters within 90 days of coming to power. Yesterday the appointment letters were given to 11,000 newly recruited teachers.

“Our policy is to remove the differences between caste and religion. KCR’s policy is that their family members should rule the state like kingdoms. Why should only the poor children work as sheep herders and KCR family rule the state,” Revanth Reddy questioned. And he reiterated that Congress was the only party that provided opportunities to the weaker sections. Congress is the party for the poor.

He went on to charge the previous government of neglecting infrastructure for schools. KCR established BRS party buildings in government lands in 33 districts. KCR has money to construct the party offices and buy lands but no idea to develop infrastructure in the schools, Revanth Reddy alleged.
